The wife surprised me with a late Christmas gift, she bought me a SCX24 b17 Betty. I sure wasn’t expecting that, I love that woman!!

Out of the box this is the best SCX24 that I have and I have one of each, not each color just each model. It shares the same chassis as the Deadbolt but has it’s own wheels and tires. I think these are the best stock SCX24 tires. I think the other thing that helps it is that it has lover CG than the others. The B17 Betty was really thought out it even has good clearance front and rear bumpers.

The suspension was a little stiff when I got it. I discovered that the screws for the links were all to tight and causing the suspension to bind. Normally you need to tighten screws in this case I had to loosen them. Right now I have no plans to upgrade the B17 Betty with any weight. I will replace the servo with a Emax when the stock servo goes out, which is just a matter of time.

I did try some Kinetic Double Barrel shocks on it but didn’t think it handled as good with them as it does with the stock shocks. I do have the stock shocks installed upside down with 2 BB’s in each reservoir. This adds a few grams of down low unsprung weight.

Didn’t like the battery wires showing in the cab windows so I fired up Freecad and designed a simple interior for it.
