Been using Shotcut on the LinuxMint for a while now. So when I bought a Macbook Pro 16″ I installed Shotcut on it too. Had video from my great granddaughters birthday I needed to edit so I loaded it into Shotcut. At first it was okay but the more I used it the worse it got. I closed Shotcut, rebooted and still the same issues. It was like Shotcut and the trackpad were not communicating. You could press for clicks and noting would happen. When dragging on the timeline it would stick and drag stuff all over the place. It got to the point it was hard to use. The video clips were made up of a mixture of 4K & 1080p, with only 1 clip being 4K which was around 2 minutes long. A few transitions and several photo overlays on a box. I had the exact same version of Shotcut on the Macbook Pro 13″ which was much less powerful having a 10 Gen i5 processor compared to a 9th Gen i9. The video turned out to be 28 minutes long & normally my videos are less than 10 minutes. I’m going to do the same video in iMovie and see how it handles the same clips.
