I had a new windshield put in my GMC Sonoma pickup and since the least bit of humidity at night causes the windshield to fog. Windows up windows down doesn’t matter. Shortly after cleaning a film appears on the inside of the windshield reminds me of when I use to smoke. I think there is some type of coating on it that the glass cleaner we have isn’t getting off or maybe it’s what’s leaving the film. It looks clean and streak free after cleaning who knows.
I decided to try a homemade glass cleaner and see if it did any better. Used good ole Google and did a search for glass cleaner. Found several post recommending this recipe, not to mention the mostly positive comments. I decided to mix a batch up and give it a try. Haven’t done the truck windshield yet but did try it on the bathroom mirror. A quick spray and wipe down with a paper towel and it was sparkling. Hoping it works as well on the truck windows.
Homemade Glass Cleaner
1/4 cup white vinegar (apple cider vinegar will work as well)
1/4 cup isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol
1 Tbsp cornstarch (the cornstarch reduces streaking — anyone know why?)
2 cups water
