The Hobbywing 1080 arrived. Soldered on some barrel connectors to the motor wires. Installed it in the TRX4 and ran the wiring. Went to calibrate the esc to the transmitter and that is where the trouble started. No matter what I did or how I did it the esc would not calibrate. Double checked that I was doing the procedure correctly. Well low and behold I discovered that the Traxxas TQ receiver that comes with the TRX4 had a place for 2 steering servos. I’m guessing this is the same rx that they use in the Summit now which has 2 steering servos. When I actually plugged the esc into the throttle channel, I was then able to calibrate it no problem.

I could see a use for the extra steering port on the rx. It could be used for a turning steering wheel. Also for turning the head of the driver.
